1964 Fender Stratocaster

I left what most would consider a very successful legal and political career to start Vice City Vintage because I wanted to be a part of helping to curate and preserve one of my foremost passions. Music is a uniquely powerful force that can illicit a plethora of emotions in an individual. The tools by which this music is made often bring about an even deeper and more personal feeling. The Fender Stratocaster we are advertising here is a representation of 60 years of bonding between a father and son.

My client had reached out to me with a short but powerful message about passing along his father's cherished 1964 Fender Stratocaster to someone who would love and appreciate it as much as he did. After reading the message, I got on the phone and gave him a call. Right away, I could tell that this guitar was prized not only due to its make, model, and condition but also because it represented everything musicians love about guitars and music. This guitar isn't just a guitar; instead, it has transformed into a symbol of love, appreciation, and a strong bond between father and son.

My client showed me how his father was the one and only owner of the guitar and went out of his way to keep it in humidity- and temperature-controlled environments during his 60 years of ownership. I got to see pictures of his father as a young man, playing the guitar in the 1960s while touring with his band. I got to see another picture of the same man playing the same guitar shortly before his passing, all those years later, with the same smile on his face that only something this special could create.

My client told me that his father's wish was for the guitar he loved so much for so long to continue to have a life of being played and cherished by another individual after his passing. That, right there, is why I changed my career path and chose to do what I do now. Every guitar we take in, whether by purchase or consignment, is done with the foremost thought of putting it in the hands of individuals who understand that these guitars are works of art that can carry with them generations of meaning. My client and I both agreed that this guitar would be sold not just to anyone who could afford it but to someone who would continue to breathe life into it and, in doing so, keep those memories alive. It is an honor and a privilege for us to have it, and both my client and I look forward to passing it on to someone who will appreciate its story
